What are Dentures?
We provide all types of full or partial dentures for our patients. Acrylic is a plastic material and Chrome cobalt is a metal material; you will be assessed as to which material is best suited to your situation. There are many things to consider when making dentures for our patients.
False teeth can affect your:
- functional chewing
- your smile
- your phonetics, or how pronounce your words
- the comfort of your jaw joint and facial muscle
- Self esteem, and social confidence
Your appointments at our practice
All care is taken in constructing your denture. The first and second visits are used to take impressions so that the denture base can be made. Next is the bite registration to ensure that your new denture will not interfere with the opposing teeth.
Within your denture visits, we allocate time for the ‘try in’ stage. The first visit allows you to view the teeth that the dentist chooses for your new denture and have a say in the shape, colour and overall appearance of your new teeth. If changes are made on the first visit, another visit is made to either confirm or make further changes to the teeth. If you require more than 2 visits to guarantee your satisfaction, they can be easily accommodated, at no extra charge.
The denture is then processed by our laboratory and issued to you.
Also included in your denture visits are ‘ease’ appointments, which are to adjust any trouble spots.
